Summary

As a Cost Control Officer, you will be a key player in maintaining the financial integrity of our large-scale Waste-to-Energy EPC projects. Your role will be integral to the project management team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of project costs, cash flow, and progress. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement managers to monitor and control project budgets, providing essential support to ensure our projects stay on track financially.


About this position

Reporting to the Cost Controls Manager, you will assist in preparing monthly project reports, managing client billing, and checking budgets for purchase orders and variation orders. Your role will also involve tax setup and facilitating administrative processes for new projects. You will play a vital part in optimizing financial performance and supporting project success through meticulous cost management and analysis.

This is what you will do

  • Assist with monthly reporting of project financials, including EAC (Estimate at Completion) compared to budget, cash flow, and POC (Percentage of Completion) for assigned projects.
  • Ensure timely client billing for assigned projects, working closely with the Cost Controls Manager.
  • Check budgets for each Purchase Order (PO) and Variation Order (VO) issued for assigned projects.
  • Maintain close contact with internal stakeholders, including Project Managers, Project Lead Engineers, Commercial Managers, and Procurement Managers, to ensure accurate cost control and reporting.
  • Assist in the tax setup (transfer pricing, PE establishment) for new projects.
  • Facilitate administrative processes for bond issuance and Letters of Credit (L/C) when applicable.

Must Haves
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Profound Excel experience and capable of handling large datasets with precision
  • Passion for working with figures and a strong numerical aptitude
  • Proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
Nice to haves
  • Experience with cost control in an industrial engineering or EPC project environment
Social Skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
Education and Experience
  •  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business economics or finance.
  • 3-5 years of experience for Bachelor’s degree holders or 1-3 years for Master’s degree holders.
Languages
Must possess a good working knowledge of English and Dutch; proficiency in French is highly valued.

About the interview process
