Summary
A Plant Follow Up Engineer is responsible for setting up and monitoring preventive and predictive maintenance plans, supporting yearly maintenance shutdowns, and analyzing mechanical data to develop optimization plans for plants in operation. This role involves coordinating and implementing optimization projects, using PFU analysis tools, and collaborating with data scientists to identify problems and solutions. The engineer will report and provide feedback to PFU and engineering teams, and communicate with plant managers and O&M teams.
About this position
Reporting directly to the Manager Plant Follow-up, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing the efficiency of waste-to-energy installations. Your expertise will be crucial in developing and implementing maintenance strategies, optimizing plant operations, and ensuring seamless data flow and analysis. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, leveraging advanced tools and technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation in plant performance.

This is what you will do

Set up and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance plans.

Support and advise during yearly maintenance shutdowns, including reporting.

Analyze mechanical data to develop optimization plans for plants in operation.

Set up test campaigns to check the correctness and feasibility of optimizations.

Coordinate and implement optimization projects.

Use PFU analysis tools and collaborate with data scientists to identify problems and solutions before writing reports and recommendations.

Report and provide feedback to PFU and engineering teams.

Communicate with plant managers and O&M teams.

Conduct inspections on site.

Provide feedback to clients on analysis results and optimizations.
Skills and abilities
Must Haves
-
Several years of experience in WtE, chemical, or power plant operations

Proven track record in maintenance and optimization projects

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication skills

Proficiency in excel

Experience with PFU analysis tools

Familiarity with SQL databases

Willingness to travel regularly abroad for 1- 3 weeks
Nice to haves

Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and deep learning options
Education and Experience

Obtained a master’s degree in Bio-engineering or a masters of Sciences. Specialization in environmental technologies or mechatronics.

Possess a minimum of 5 years or more of relevant work experience in a similar role.
Languages:
For this role, we are looking for a fluent English speaker. Proficiency in French and Dutch is highly valued and will enhance your ability to make a meaningful operational impact.
