Summary
As a Project Engineer at Keppel Seghers Belgium, you will be part of the growing Engineering Project Management Team, from where you will be dispatched to play a vital role in the successful execution of our world-wide (EPC) waste-to-energy projects.
You will be responsible to manage the complete lifecycle of your equipment package, from conceptual design and costing in proposal phase, throughout realization in execution phase until final acceptance on site. In that trajectory, you will ensure the timely, cost-effective and accurate delivery of documentation, materials, devices, and installations to the required quality expectations, through close collaboration with suppliers and the project team, both in-house and on site. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, effective organizational and communication skills, forward-thinking and a willingness to travel abroad.
About this position
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, this role involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary project team including the engineering teams (process, civil and mechanical design, E&I, and automation), procurement, quality control, logistics, and with the construction and commissioning teams. You will regularly touch base with the planning, cost controls and commercial disciplines as well to make sure the execution of your package stays on track.

This is what you will do

Create technical designs for equipment packages in collaboration with the engineering teams and with (potential) suppliers

Maintain contact with potential suppliers, subcontractors, and partners for technical evaluation of offers and creation of costing files for inclusion in proposal price and eventual project budget

Throughout the project execution, manage your allocated budget, and make sure your milestones are achieved and deadlines are respected. Thereto, manage and follow-up risks, pursue opportunities and solve issues

Pro-actively follow-up with the suppliers throughout the design, manufacturing and delivery of the equipment package

Monitor the adequate implementation of Inspection & Test Plans in coordination with Quality Control

Prepare specifications for delivery and site work execution (e.g., piping, insulation, assembly, testing and commissioning)

Follow-up the site works executed by the site team, and provide the required (remote) assistance

Collect, check, and regularly update technical documentation, and make sure the final dossier is complete and in accordance with the requirements

Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time

Proficient in delving deep into project technical details for an energy plant installation

Holds a master’s degree or bachelor’s degree (or equivalent by experience) in one of the following fields:

Several years of experience in engineering and/or project management in machinery, heavy industries, process equipment, etc.
Languages:
For this role, apart of fluent English, we are looking for a fluent French speaker to strengthen our team.
