Summary
The Proposal Manager is a critical role within our organization, responsible for managing the end-to-end process of proposal submissions with a strong focus on the technical aspects. This role involves collaborating with various departments and stakeholders to create technically sound and competitive proposals that meet customer needs and contribute to the successful award of projects. Working language is English and fluency in French is a must, due to prospect market conditions.
About this position
As Proposal Manager, you will need to collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams including Business Development, Legal, Engineering, Finance, Commercial & Quality, Procurement, and Project Management to drive compliant and competitive proposals leading to successful project awards, with a particular emphasis on the proposal technical completeness. You will also collaborate and coordinate with external partners, suppliers and customers the delivery of the proposal scope.

This is what you will do

Collaborates with Bid Manager to evaluate and improve proposal processes

Prepares and submits the necessary technical documents for internal approval, ensuring compliance with technical standards

Submits proposals, including technical clarifications to customers in coordination with the Bid Manager

Reviews and discusses technical contract terms with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with project requirements

Prepares technical sections of quotation files, ensuring “Value for Money” and technical compliance

Evaluates tender requirements from a technical perspective to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with client specifications

Sets-up workshops to discuss different topics of the proposal: layout, work breakdown structure, procurement strategy, constructability, guarantees, key selling points, etc

Collaborates with Engineering and Cost Estimations teams to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility of proposed solutions

Presents the costing / pricing of the project to management

Organizes follow-up meetings to update the technical risk register and manage risks proactively

Serves as the main technical point of contact for proposal-related matters, providing professional and accurate responses

Coordinates with technical partners and engineering teams within consortiums to ensure seamless collaboration

Participates in Project Transfer Meetings (PTMs) to ensure that all technical aspects of the project are clearly understood for a smooth transition post-award
Skills and abilities
Must Haves
-
Proven experience in proposal/tender management for complex EPC projects

Experience on industrial project risk management, e.g. design safety, project scope creep, authority certifications, etc

Familiarity with energy industry regulations and standards. Team player and able to motivate/drive the team to successful submission of the proposals

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage/support multiple bids simultaneously and meet deadlines

Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively liaise with clients, stakeholders and internal teams
Nice to haves

Previous experience in waste-to-energy projects or similar renewable energy sectors

Industrial site experience, i.e. construction, commissioning or operation

Working experience in a multicultural environment, particularly within the EU region, to navigate diverse stakeholder dynamics effectively
Education and Experience

Hold an engineering master’s degree or equivalent by experience

Possess a minimum of years or more of relevant work experience in a technical commercial role
Languages:
